Sounds about right. Was a 4.0 quad cam V-8. The guy I bought it off actually tried to give me a Cadillac for free , but it was some weird 90's thing that drove through the front wheels with a really asthmatic transverse V-8 - FWD is an offence against nature...
Looking back it would have made a great Lowrider, but I wasn't Hispanic then, Esay

Just exactly how many folks, besides the farm/ranch/racing crowd, actually need to tow more than 7500lbs?

A lot of suburban males are buying F250 diesels for a towing capacity that they use once or twice a year.

Anyone heat anymore about the rumor of Nissan using one of the newer Cummins four cylinders in the Titan for 2014?

You left out a HUGE segment of buyers: commercial users. Everything from municipalities to private building contractors such as myself. I have a small company and I have three 10K GVRW trailers.

Any idea why they would run a V-6 instead of an inline-6?

length. When Banks stuffed a Cummins 6BT into a Dodge Dakota, they had to move the firewall back something like 9".

Frankly, I'm amazed anybody is bothering to develop platforms below 8600 GVWR for Diesels - between the idiocy of the EPA, and the emergence of Direct Cylinder Injection for gasoline engines(taking a healthy bite of the performance advantages of Diesel engines), I think it would have made the manufacturers more gunshy about them.
