The $500MM is what I can't follow. That's a hell of a factory.

I think that properly designed laminated bamboo would make great material for homebuilt aircraft.Aglifter wrote:I think there is a, high-end, non-subsidized, manufacturer using bamboo.

Why shouldn't laminated bamboo and rattan work? The Mosquito was made of plywood during WW2, and plywood is laminated wood. To my knowledge bamboo and rattan are comparable in strength to wood, if not stronger.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .

It does work, but it offers no advantage over the common steel tube frame bike.. Let me put it another way, his production costs are $9 and he needs half a billion(more like 50 million and the other 450 goes into a swiss bank
) to do so. Meanwhile, there's Chinese manufacturers that are selling bikes to their wholesalers for $9, making a profit, in a factory that cost a fraction of the rattan bike.
Something else occurred to me - how heavy is this bike compared to a tube frame bike?

Could he be interested in this device as a counter-IED? I mean the steel framed bikes can be detonated rather well... then again, the Perpetually Oppressed Palestinians generally use high explosives, which don't really need the compression of a steel frame...
