In high school, I took shop class and home ed, where I learned enough about cooking do be dangerous on a minor level.. There was me and one other guy in a class of about 25 something girls. I managed to live through it quite happily. From then on I always enjoyed cooking and was rewarded in a number of ways from a variety of girlfriends throughout my formative years. I shall be eternally grateful. To this day, I still enjoy it immensely, to the point where my lovely wife and I have an arrangement - I cook and she does the dishes. It works quite nicely. Besides, that way I know whats in there......

I like your cooking. I once knew a Nebraska farmboy of German ethnicity who had an old family recipe for noodles/dumplings that looked a lot like yours. And your stew reminds me of the stew my Polish great-grandmother used to make. She said it was Hungarian. Funny that.
