The original Pinaud Lilac Vegetal was pretty good ... don't know it it's still available.

And as an upgrade, don't discount 4711; it's been around for 200+ years, pretty cheap on the net. It's my everyday.

Do you shave with a safety razor, too?

I do, when the time comes to remove the beard. I normally shave with a Merker 39c "Slant" and a "Classic 1904" when it"s warmer though.

I use California Trading Company's Dominica Bay Rum for my aftershave. My razor is a Merkur Futura with Feather blades.

Always liked Aramis, slightly musky, but not overly so.

Yes. I got tired of the increasing number of blades. When my old twin blade holder broke, the smallest I could find was a Mach 3. A few months of that, and I said, "Forget it."

I have mostly (maybe only) Gillette safety razors: Red tip, green tip, brass (?) comb, stainless plain, and others. This one is my daily shaver. It works best for me when set on 7.

Side benefit is that shaving used to cost me about $5/month in cartridges and now costs about 80 cents in blades. I just use the Wilkinson blades from Wally World.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

That silver plain looks almost identical to my daily Gillette (the knob on mine is a bit simpler). Far better shave than a Mach 3, but I still keep a Mach and a couple cartridges around for traveling, so I don't have to pack my cup and brush. Right now my only aftershave is Aspen, but I've used Brut plenty of times, and used dad's English Leather once or twice. I like the English Leather far better than Baby Brother's Old Spice.

I have an old Gilette butterfly safety razor my mother gave me when my Grandfather died 12 or so years ago. I bought some blades just to try it out and have been using it ever since, gives a good shave. And the DE blades are pretty cheap.

Now I have to get some Old Spice. It's what my father uses, and I think of him whenever I get a whiff of the scent.
