What caliber for sensitive skin?

Actually I searched before I started this one. I found an electric razor thread, and of course, Yogi's thread. Didn't see much else.

This Merkur

These blades

So far, the Astra blades are my favorite. They're inexpensive and remarkable consistent.

And yeah, I know Chris specifically requested this over creating yet another new shaving thread. But still...

I don't know why, but just for S&G, I am tempted to go and make random replies to a bunch of old threads now.

How do you find a thread that old? I searched for shave and shaving in the search at the top, there, and I got a bit disturbed when wading through Yogi's thread, and thought that was old enough. Once I know how to find the really old stuff to make it new again, I'll do so.

Yogi's was a shaving thread... I guess that one didn't get merged in because of the ... er... regional differences?

ETA: I think I figured out the topic search. I also think Chris and Greg are just feeling grouchy. Chris I can understand with all the crap he has going on right now. But, Greg, what's up?

There were exactly 0 topics with shave in the title and exactly two with it: this one and one about a woman wrecking a car while shaving her snatch. So presumably when I started this one, there was that one from 2008 as well. I searched for "bear" in topic titles and there were 45 matches, 36 of which had to do with actual bears.

So... really? I understand not wanting another bear thread, but ONE thread about shaving from 4 years ago? I don't do all my living and breathing here, so I can't feel too awfully guilty about forgetting that there was one other thread 4 years ago.

I'm not upset or anything, but I thought I'd better ... fact check after the debate. :D

Granted, I haven't looked, but if some of this was in the Wiki, then people could just point others to the Wiki (hopefully with a link, since the last time I looked, there was no quick & easy way to get to the Wiki from the forum besides completely exiting the forum, and coming in from the top). Shortcuts to Wiki topics are useful, it's just that many people FORGET we even HAVE a WIKI (myself included), unless someone brings up a regular topic, then many of us remember the WIKI.

OK, now I'm getting confused.

One thread was about electric shavers. One was about straight razors. One about safety razor blades. One about aftershave. One about shaving in general.

Do we lump all discussions about AR15's, Mosin M39's, home protection shotguns, and Ruger 10/22's in one thread because they're all long guns? I'm not being sarcastic or facetious here. These two truly seem analogous to me.

Do discussions of medicare, foreign policy, and voter fraud all go under politics?

I'm not getting something.

I doubt you're the only one. After all, discussing Straight-Edge Razor shaving is quite different than discussing Electric Razors. Granted, I haven't read through the ENTIRE combined thread, but it would make sense to separate some of the more obvious divisions in shaving. People looking to discuss Electric Shavers aren't going to be too interested in those discussing stropes, brushes, lathers for Straight-Edge (Single-Edge) shaving.
