Pretty sure, yes. It's remarkably good.HTRN wrote:Do you mean "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality", on Fanfiction.net?CByrneIV wrote:Harry Potter and the Methods of Reality (an online serial novel in the Harry Potter universe)

Currently reading "Prime Target", on my Kindle, by some newbie named Kim du Toit.
Also, "Pirate Latitudes" by Michael Crichton.

I started reading it and got bored. I did find the bit about the Voyager probe exceedingly clever - finally, a villain who shows competence.Greg wrote:Pretty sure, yes. If you want a good crackfic, you might want to check "Make a wish" and it's various spinoff stories. Harry is convinced he's the universes butt monkey, and by the end of the Terminal Justice, it's pretty obvious he is.

Re: Whatcha reading redux.
I just got done reading two of Andy McNab's books, Bravo Two Zero, and Immediate Action.
, &
BOTH are VERY interesting stories! If you want to have an idea what some of the first Gulf War coalition POWs went through, read Bravo Two Zero. Although not as bad as the Vietnamese, the Iraqis were pretty damned brutal to captured POWs, and I COMPLETELY understand
his feelings about wanting to kill his interrogators if he ever catches them somewhere and there's not any witnesses around (and he might get away with it, since London is COVERED with cameras).
Imagine having a broken tooth from multiple rifle butt-strokes to your head and face, which breaks a couple of your rear molars and exposing the nerve. Now imagine having someone being the dentist coming in to look at your teeth while offering some medical/dental care for your mouth DURING AN INTERROGATION (how can you say NO when it might be true?), and during the examination, he reaches in with his pliers and GRABS your exposed tooth nerve - well, YEAH, YOU SCREAM LIKE A BANSHEE AND JUMP SO HARD AND QUICKLY NOT EVEN THE GUARDS CAN HOLD YOU DOWN (also with the adrenaline pumped into your body, even though your hands are bound). And then after you come back down, you pass out.
In this book is a gripping tale of physical POW torture at the hands of the Iraqis during the FIRST Gulf War.
AWESOME READING!

Stumbled upon a pretty good read, courtesy of the El Paso Public Library.
Exit Plan by Larry Bond.
It's about Seals and Iran, and that's all I'm gonna tell ya.

I finished GoT 1-4 and just needed a break. Read the "Wool" omnibus in a day. Go get it, its on sale at Amazon last I looked. Certainly the best dystopian series I've ever read. Started the first book of The Destroyermen last night. Looking forward to it very much.

Mike, you might want to read some of the wiki entry's on "Andy McNab" - they'res accusations that a number of things presented in the book are inaccurate, notably the torture of the captured men from his patrol.
