Redneck Engineering

Post by skb12172 »

I saw this in the Wal-Mart parking lot, today. Mid-90's Toyota Camry, with the bumper cut to allow the installation of a trailer hitch! Necessity truly is the mother of invention.

I would have cut it at an angle to allow better range of motion. :)

ABSOLUTELY!!! That narrow range of motion means they hadn't thought it through enough yet. Typical Redneck would have them pulling off to the side of the road and cutting back the portions they thought would impinge them.
POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON

A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.

Sure would have been easier just to buy one of these and install it.

Not really. The redneck version only requires a few minutes with a sawzall and a mig unit.

The bumper is foam, so it shouldn't inhibit his turning at all. It appears he used a piece of square tube for the receiver, I hope he knows how to weld.

IIRC, it's much more like rubber.

Either way, the welding heat probably turns it into fumes that are pretty toxic.

Wal-Marts in Kentucky have gravel parking lots?
Or did you follow him home to take the picture?
If time, chance and random process can produce a platypus why not an ammo tree?

I saw a porn spread where the gal was riding a hitch... She was about as redneck as the owner of that car is I am sure.
