Night vision question

The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

These worth the price of admission? I recall using them but for the life of me am not sure if the money would be better spent elsewhere.

I have no idea. Coincidentally, I notice that Aldi Germany is selling a NV instrument for 99 euro this week.

That Fero NV gear that CC linked to turns up reasonably frequently on the German Government-Surplus auction site. It's always marked "military goods - export licence required". If they granted licences, they must reckon that it's not likely to be very useful anymore.
