Just finished that tonight. Back to Wheel of Time for a day or three, until I get paid and pick up my e-book copy of Spellbound. If it reads like Hard Magic, I'll kill that off in about a day, and be right back to Mr Jordan.

Semester's done, so now I can read on my own...

Spellbound by Larry Correia
Dead Six by Larry Correia and Mike Kupari
Uprising by George Hill

Debating between For the Common Defense by Millet and Maslowski andHistory of the US Army by Weigley. Or try to finish Middlekauf's The Glorious Cause

Next semester's classes are US History since 1877 (required), Civil War and Reconstruction, and either Vietnam War or Naval and Maritime History. Should make for interesting reading.

I just started reading "Into the Looking Glass" by John Ringo lasat night, I haven't read it since it was released so I thought I'd give it another go since I enjoyed it last time.

So, while I was at work eating lunch and catching up on the news this headline caught my eye:
Physicists find 'tantalizing hints' of Higgs boson 'God particle'

Physicists announced Tuesday that they had detected "tantalizing hints," but not definitive proof, of the long-sought Higgs boson, the so-called God particle that is crucial to physicists' understanding of why mass exists in the universe.

Two large teams of scientists based at the Large Hadron Collider near Geneva separately saw what they believe are telltale tracks of the maddeningly elusive particle in the aftermath of about 400 trillion proton collisions carried out since January.
Now ain't that a coincidence.

I haven't been to this thread in a while.

I recently finished Rewards and Fairies by Kipling.

My kids, lamenting my misspent youth, have demanded that I read all of the Narnia books, starting at the beginning. I'm in the middle of Voyage of the Dawn Treader right now. I've been finding them a very pleasant escape.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Just started into a collection of short SF stories by Philip K. Dick. I've already found where they got the plot line for the movie "Total Recall" from.

He's one of my favorite characters in the series and, if memory serves, a Machinists Mate to boot. I seriously can't wait to see what part he will play in the current, unfolding chaos.

Benjamin Franklin by Walter Isaacson. Interesting that he's the CEO of the Aspen Institute and former chairman of CNN.
The Tears of the Sun by S.M. Stirling. Next in the Change series. which started with the Island in the Sea of Time. Two sides of the same story.
I'd almost like to see Flint look at what happened in the modern world when Grantville disappeared in 1632.
