If, in moments of stress, you need a slogan to refer to, remember Ronald Reagan's words.
"Hate the sin, love the sinner."
I know several people of both sexes I think are homosexual, but I won't put them on the spot by asking a crass question like "Whats your sexuality?" of them.
And for his sake, I hope he finds a steady partner to settle down with.

A weak government usually remains a servant of citizens, while a strong government usually becomes the master of its subjects.

Re: Brother came out of the closet
FWIW, I grew up in the furniture business. Like there are no gay designers.
And I live in Wrigleyville. Young couples and old gays. Standing joke is that my wife and I are the oldest straight couple on the block.
One of my wife's cousins came out some years back. When my wife got off the phone with him, and told me, my response was, "I think he must have been the last to know. I've known him for 20 years and always thought he was."
My personal opinion: someone's sexual orientation (or whatever it's called these days) is none of my business. I just don't care. Are you a decent, moral person? Are you honest and honorable? My standards of friendship do not include sexuality as a factor.
As others have already said, "He's your BROTHER!!!!" That's what's operative. Love him as you always have. Nothing's changed.

Hey, look at it this way. It's a great opportunity to help get more gay men interested in shooting. Your brother could be a great ambassador for RKBA.
Drive out some of that liberal poison the gay community seems to be burdened with.

Re: Brother came out of the closet
In college I was "that guy" that all the gay kids came out to. You know why? Because they knew I didn't give a rat's ass. I don't applaud anybody for being gay. I don't degrade anybody for being gay. I won't treat you any differetly if I know your gay. I know that gay kids hated the phoney acceptance that most people give ("oh, my best friend is gay too!!! good for you being gay like that!!! it's not easy so you must be so strong!!").
When they'd come out to me, the answer was, "ok...so?" It's irrelevant to me. If it's a sin, then so be it. But are you perfect and sinless? Everybody's got their own sins. I don't judge people who are gay any more harshly than people to have pre-marital sex, eat non-kosher food, or use G-d's name in vein. I really just don't care. If he's a good person, and he's your bro, then just love him for being your bro.

+1 on what Flintlock Tom said. I will add to that that we are called not to judge each other. So, what does that mean between you and your brother? Not a damned thing. The call to not judge each other is liberating like that. It's none of your business what immoral lifestyle he chooses. We live under grace, and God gets to sort all of us out in the end. I've got gay family members, and it doesn't make a difference to me in the end. Don't feel bad for asking the question or being concerned, but ultimately it's not your responsibility.

i will say this as well... if you decide to push your christian views on him, you run the very real risk of driving an irreparable wedge between the two of you... just keep that in mind every time you think you want to criticize him and decide if it is worth it.

I'm not sure who was advocating "pushing" views on him. I thought most of what I've read to date counseled acceptance and love. Who's "pushing?"
