I'm glad that it works for you guys. I was prescribed some for acid reflux, but couldn't swallow.

May I respectfully suggest that you REALLY try to swallow? I suffered from acid reflux for most of my adult life, (should have invested heavily in Arm and Hammer baking soda stock) and didn't get Nexium until after my gastroenterologist determined that I had esophageal damage. One Nexium capsule a day and I can eat anything and everything I want with absolutely NO reflux problems. I wish I had "discovered" Nexium thirty years ago......

I'm sorry, dang, I seem to be writing in Chinese these days -- I meant food/water, etc would seem to get stuck partially down my throat. Terrified the heck out of me.

Sounds nasty, wouldn't fancy having that kind of symptom.

Funny thing is, I've no issues with eating and swallowing, and no reflux. They didn't see any damage, just the signs of the Gastritic irritation. I'm betting on infection at the moment. But considering H. pylori infection usually happens during one's youth (from what I've read), I'm surprised I've only gotten the gagging symptom this year. Then again, I might have picked it up this year as a result of a lower immune system. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

I think much of that stuff just sits dormant... actually, I know it does -- biochem nerd bit deleted -- an old lung infection of mine kicks up on occasion, if I let myself get run down.

Yup so do I , also switch to Tea and stay away from coffee , alcohol and any thing with lots of fat.
What I have noticed so far, is that if I exercise and watch my diet I can , eat and drink what I want from time to time.
Good luck and worst case is that it makes you eat better , ( bummer ) .

UPDATE:

Had my follow up today, and I do indeed have the ol' bugger H. pylori.

So it's triple therapy for the next 2 weeks ( 2 antis and Nexium).
