And he's going to throw Israel to the wolves, so I don't understand why all those Jews in NYFC aren't up in arms about the possible election of Urkel - who'll look the other way as Israel is assailed by fanatics trying to destroy it.

Because they are fuckin' stupid and stubborn. They are generational democratic supporters who have never really given any though to the fact that most democrats really aren't much as far as their support of Israel goes. They are too stubborn to believe that they have been throwing their unwavering support to a bunch of politicians who would have no problem at all in watching Israel (our ONLY friend in the middle east) go down in flames to appease the animalstinians and the rest of the religion of peace. Honestly, I don't really understand it either.

So what's new? I predict that if any Muslim country uses a ballistic missile tipped with bio or a nuke on Israel, the endgame will not be to that Muslim country's liking.
Under the right circumstances, some IDF members will admit to Israel having around 100 nukes. I strongly suspect the number is higher.

My thoughts are that if we "officially" (BO that is) turn our backs on Israel, then Israel has no further obligation to us to restrain themselves from any threats in their portion of the world. The neighbors of Israel should be prepared to become good neighbors or face the wrath.

As a Jew, I don't understand how my coreligionists make political decisions. My best guess: American Jews, the descendants of European Jews who emigrated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, inherited a strong socialist orientation. (Look at the socialist tradition in Israel.) They worked like capitalists because they had the opportunity ... but their social conscience had a socialist orientation.
I fear now many vote democRAT because that's how their parents and grand parents voted. They put social responsibility in front of self preservation. They deny the fact that you can't accomplish anything if you're dead.
Politically, I'm a strict constructionist. If some want to drink the Kool-Aid and voluntarily enter the cattle car, fine. Don't come to my house with a train ticket. You won't like the outcome.
