That happens to me a lot with fishing gear. Sometimes I clear out an area and I find a specialty rod that I have no memory of buying.Aglifter wrote:But then you deprive yourself of that "Christmas Morning as a young child" feeling when you find a cherished Colt behind a freezer, about 1.5 years later...
I have no problem imagining the same thing happens with guns if it wasn't for the license requirements preventing me from buying a few extra "just in case I ever need it", and forcing me to keep track of what I have for the 5 year renewals.

Then it makes no difference if he had fifty guns hidden in the house or none, does it?skb12172 wrote:Except for the fact that they caught this guy from behind and unawares. I hate to keep pushing the point, but in my mind this was THE main reason I started this thread. It certainly speaks in favor of a four-legged, early warning system, if nothing else.
If they got him then at least the wife/kids can shoot the fuckers instead of getting raped and murdered.
Dog wasn't part of the equation and while a warning system (maybe) that would be it depending on size and training of course...If they bark at any passing vehicle or human or animal then you just put it aside when he starts barking before you get clubbed.

Sportsman's Guide has been offering assorted clock & picture frame gun stashes. (including a monster 4x 8"x10" frame which will hide a full length AR...) If I weren't certain that my housemates would point them out to every visitor, I'd be putting them to use already.

I have a couple of Glocks, a Sig, a Colt, a Smith and Wesson, a Benelli for my hidey guns.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

There must be an end to this intimidation by those who come to this great country, but reject its culture.

Re: Hidey Guns Around The House
When my niece and nephew come over to visit, my brother has to give us ample warning so we can go around and collect all the guns within arms reach (including the one inside the chair armrest).
