Comp-tac or Crossbreed for an IWB Full Size Holster?

Post by mekender »

Just as the title says?

I have heard of people having issues with the clips being flimsy on the Crossbreed.

Might want to look at this.

from the pics, it looks like the "holster" does not cover the trigger... a recipe for disaster imo.

I do now see this pic of a new crossbreed where it looks like the clips have been fixed.

Buddy of mine carries his G19 in a Comp-Tac and swears by it.. The belt hooks were a bit cheesy IMHO, but it looks like they may have straightened that issue out.

I used to break the clips on my Crossbreed constantly, but no problems since I switched to the new metal ones. A horsehide crossbreed is a heck of an effective holster for $85, and quick delivery. I prefer mine to a comp-tac. If you don't like the cross breed, I think you have 2 weeks to send it back.

I like my crossbreed and have tried the Kholster as well. The kholster got switched to because of the clips but now I will order some metal clips for it and wear it again.

The Kholster is adjustable for cant and you can trip off any excess material once you hare happy.

I just recently got a Crossbreed, and to be quite honest, I was really expecting more for $85. I got the Quick Clip for my PF-9, it does conceal well,, but they really should have cut the leather MUCH smaller. On the plus side, my 1911 fits in it very well, no kydex click, but the trigger's covered, and it's decently secure. The leather is still big for the 1911, so I'll be trimming it back. There's even three different cants, FBI, straight, and crossdraw. For $85, I might not be back, as my horsehide OWB from HighNoon was only $15 more, and it's a work of art.

My Milt Sparks VM-2 should be here in about a month or so... :)
