elastic for adding shotgun shell loops to mag pouches

I want to sew little elastic hoops onto some of my mag pouches like this:

So that I can use them to also carry shotgun shells at the three gun match, like this:

However, before I do that I will need to find some good elastic that will not wear out or stretch out or tear easily. Does anyone know what kind of elastic is used by Endom or Special Operations Equipment or Blackhawk or Maxpedition or any of the other quality gear manufacturers?
And once the type or kind of elastic is known, where do I find it?
I assume it is something "better" than cheapass elastic you might find at the local sewing store, right?
Thanks!
ETA:
Found out the Mil Spec for elastic webbing is MIL-W-5664, so now half the problem is solved. Just need to find someone who'll sell it in less than roll sized quantities.
