FYI, the $40 Israeli and US surplus gas masks you can find on the internet are good for Halloween costumes, but be sure to take the filters out as the decomposing filter material (they are over 10 years old which is why they are surplus) can make you sick.
Yes, after 10 years, you need to throw out the filter on your new Scott mask as well.
