Chris, problem with both systems you mentioned is they're noticeable. It's the same problem I have with window racks(my other is that all the damn manufacturers make 'em out of plastic now. GAAH!)

Have you considered an under the back seat system?

<EDIT> Nevermind, it won't fit - fine print says "not for the megacab"</EDIT>

Arizona lets you black out the front door windows?!Image

The overhead storage.. My big worry is the gun and/or rack breaking loose while driving. Most of them only use velcro to secure the gun into the rack. Theres a nifty bucket seat system being sold by Cabela's. Quick install, relatively unobtrusive when not in use.. BUT, if you use the storage built into the back of most front seats(and I do - especially the passsenger side. It's stuffed with a few maps, easy to reach from the drivers seat). than it's a pain in the ass.

Chris it boils down to:
1)Are the guns going to be in the truck full time?
2)How many(you said 2, right?)
3)Do you need easy access for them from the drivers seat?
4)where in the truck do you have room?(IE, overhead is N/G if you don't have enough headroom).

There used to be other systems like this one out there. I recall seeing one that held 2 rifles in the visor area. But this is all I could find today. Slow google-fu I suppose.

you can't beat this for the price

A bit more storage and a good price

I like the over the head storage look at least. I ought to look at one in person first.

Out of the bunch I like the overhead suggestion the best, though I'd make sure you have sufficent headroom to allow for unexpected bumps.

I have seen the ones that go across the front before, and they are cool. The problem for you would be, impeding your vision, since you are so tall. I would like to get one for my truck though, because I am short. :D

One of the ranchers I know keeps a .270 bolt gun with an obscene scope on it stuck in an overhead rack that mounts above the visors. Unless you are looking pretty much straight up, you can't see it and it's fast enough to hit coyotes in the calving fields.

Let's just say that he doesn't spend any time operating the bolt before firing.

No idea where he got it though.
