Gear Queers of the World All Spontaneously Orgasm

The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

Gear Queers of the World All Spontaneously Orgasm

Post by 1911Man »

Assuming this link works: If you follow the link to Chris' site, he has the most tacticool Tommy looking, mall ninja gotta havit thing I've ever seen.

I put this in the same category as the .45 GAP. It's the answer to a question nobody was asking.

EDIT: I can't get the link to the story on Chris' blog to work, so I just linked the front page. Perhaps I can get some lessons from a moderator. Doh!!! <<== Lesson provided - mods

Here's the manufacturer's site link. http://www.milspecmonkey.com/stractech.html

EDIT II: Click on the lesson provided link. Thanks Chris.

Looks kind of silly. The mind boggles at what the spring and follower must look like. I wonder how reliable it really is.

On a tangent, aside from its actual merits (which are scant) can we agree that
It's the answer to a question nobody was asking.
is, like "No soup for you" or "Someone set us up the bomb" a phrase that has been killed by overuse?

Argue something on its own merits, simply saying "it's new so I don't like it" in what you think is a clever way just marks you as... well nothing really good.

Seems to be adding an extra point of failure.
Now we need to worry that our mag may jam... before it reaches the gun?
looks cool though... whatever that's worth?

When you can buy a SAW mag bag that goes on your hip for 30 bucks and holds 6 mags..

Yeah, I see this selling greatly to the mall ninjas if it's available in black.

Now they need to make a matching one for the other side that dispenses 12 oz beer bottles.

Now THAT would be useful. Especially if it's insulated.

I don't think so, when appropriate, and I think it is in this case. I've never heard anyone ask for someone to come up with an overly complex, additional point of failure item to maintain that you can use instead of just training more with standard carriers.

Perhaps "A hardware solution to a training issue" would be better?.
...simply saying "it's new so I don't like it" in what you think is a clever way just marks you as... well nothing really good.
I don't think that's what most people ('round here anyway) mean when they use that phrase. At least it doesn't when I use it.

A Browning Hi-Power in .45ACP would be new, but it is a question that's been asked for years.

Another new tacticool rube Goldberg ammo carrier? Haven't heard anyone asking that one.

And, showing my ignorance, but I've never heard "Someone set us up the bomb". Reference please?

Nah, what we need is camelbak for those 5 gallon cornelius kegs.

Just the thing for perimeter patrol.

<EDIT> Apparently, I'm not the only one to think this is a good idea :o </EDIT>
