Thought that was what the sling was for. Just attach a few to it.

I'd thought of making a sling with 4-5 pockets a-la GI Garand cartridge belt on it to put on a Garand. The thought of that heavy pendulum swinging under the rifle while trying to aim sorta damped my enthusiasm for the idea. I might try it anyway but I have misgivings about practicality :(

There is a gentleman over on the CMP forum who makes Garand stock pouches, as well as several other interesting clip and magazine pouches for a variety of guns. I havent bought anything from him yet, as his prices seem to be just a bit on the high side to me, but everyone on the forum who has bought something from him seems more than satisfied with their purchase. If there's a specific variation that you'd like, I'm sure he can whip it up for you, too.

Or, you can just buy the original....

I usually keep a clip or two on the sling, but I would take them off if I was going to be using the rifle.

That could actually be useful, if you put a piece of elastic between the bottom of the clip holder, and inside the bottom of the mag pouch. That way, you pull up the clip holder, remove the clip, and when you let go, the elastic pulls the clip holder back into the mag pouch. Seems simpler to just use pouches made for the enbloc clips, but that is one way this product could be made to work with relative efficiency.
