Hm. 45. The fact that you're at 42 makes me wonder if I'm giving myself too much credit. Good list, though.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

I think Heinlein said it better.

I get 50 by selecting the ones I have done independently and not including the ones I either have never done or have only done with the help of others (rappel for example). There are some items I didn't select that I believe I can do (defend myself without a weapon for example) but haven't ever had to beyond the school yard.

Interesting list, but some of the items are a little redundant - fire starting, find tinder, make char-cloth for example.

I have no clue on how to make activated charcoal, and don't see a real need for that skill. I know how to make charcoal.

Lose a tail? Okay. If you know you're being tailed, the guy tailing you isn't any good.

Identify surveillance? Yeah, can anyone say NSA? Good, I thought you could.

Most of the rest of the list, I'd fell pretty good about, as I've done everything else there. Some of the items are very broad. I feel perfectly comfortable piloting a boat in our local waters, but anything past a 20 foot ski rig, and I'd be way out of my comfort zone. So, what kind of boat is he talking about? I'm not a mariner, and don't pretend to be.

I got 46. There are some I am guessing at what he means in my favor and others I am guessing at against my skills. I agree with others, there needs to be some specificity on some of those / redundancy. But it is a good list. I really want the weld one checked off.

I came up with 57 that I KNOW I can do (some that I do quite regularly). Some of the others are maybe/maybe not. Not much use for skis or snowshoes in this part of the country, so that's right out.

I thought he was talking about water skis. I used to do that a lot. Even spent some time on a slalom ski. Yah, that list should be refined a little bit. Instead of snowshoes, he should talk about hip boots. There's an art/skill to that as well.
