Magpul MBUS Pro... 1911 Grips AND AK PMags!

Post by Darrell »

Magpul has announced the Pro all-steel version of their popular MBUS sights. I'd say MSRP is comparable to other steel BUIS:

And, as may have been mentioned elsewhere, they're coming out with 1911 grip panels. They're mentioned down that same page.

Pity that by the time they come out I won't be able to buy them.

A) Why?

B) Unless it incorporates metal reinforcement in the locking lugs, and preferably metal feed lips, it will just be another plastic POS masquerading as an AK magazine.

C) Again, why?

My guess is, because they think people will want them and might buy them. :P

People buy Tapco AK mags too, but I wouldn't have thought Magpul would want to put their name on something of that quality level. Which is what these will be, if they do not incorporate the above features.

We'll have to see about that one. And I need another 1911 grip panel vendor like I need an additional anus, but there does seem to be a market for that.

There's certainly no need to be filled, but people do seem to like certain things even if they're pointless.

The Bulgarian Circle 10 waffle mags enjoy a good reputation, and are plastic, of course. I have a bunch, never had a problem with any of them. They were going for $30 in 2007, I saw that they're now going for $45. Perhaps Magpul can beat that price. If they can maintain the quality from their AR PMags, I bet they sell a ton of 'em. 8-)

As far as I know, they have metal in the locking lugs and feed lips. Also, I've read that you need to watch out buying Bulgarian plastic mags, because they aren't all created equal, and not all of them are the "good" ones.
