I can not make a post so soon after the last, so I am writing this sentence to waste time.

Thanks for the heads up, Yogimus. Mad Ogre likes the Lucids.

Here's a review of the HD7:

I really like the concept of the HD7, if they would ditch the target turrets and multiple reticules it would be even better. From most of the reviews it's plenty durable for an HD and range/trunk gun. I don't however see it knocking Aimpoints and Trijicons out of the LE/MIL market.

I have a gen2 HD7.

It's built like a brick shithouse and the batteries seemingly last forever. It's retain zero perfectly after a few range outings. Granted, that's no testament to its longevity under long-term duress, but it's a start.

+1

I have one that has several hundred rounds of 223 on it, plus an accidental drop from about 3 feet onto my hardwood laminate floor while remounting it. Not a scratch and retained zero etc.

son has one with several hundred rounds of 7.62x39 through it. going well.

Just bought one for BIL who just got an AR. I like the newer reticles better but am not complaining about mine. For $200 I think it is a great red dot.

Liking my Gen1 though haven't really abused it much. Doesn't give off that cheap Simmons red dot vibe. Turrets took some serious twisting to get them turning. Apparently packed in grease (according to their web FAQ) internally and just need worked in. Took a shop towel for protecting the finish and pliers to 'em and they're adjusting nice now.

I don't think anyone is going to convince me out of getting an Aimpoint T-1 when I get an AR-15.

Mostly part of it's extremely small, forget about it battery life, and near indestructibility that's proven.
