Weird idea for shotgun shells

Would it be possible to put a flashlight into a 12 gauge shell that would activate when the bolt closes on the shell in the chamber? I was thinking a 1cm "long" LED light, capable of projecting a 50+ lumen beam out the barrel, with a standard charge and #1 shot behind it. I figure it would be expensive to make, but would it be possible? If possible, would it be effective as a light?

Why do you want to shoot someone with a flashlight?

What would be the point v. attaching a flashlight to the gun?

Yogi plans on shooting it in train tunnels to see what effect that would have on the guy at the other end.

Thanks for that Yogi, I'll be up all night thinking about it now. But yes, it probably would be possible. Why the hell you would want to do it I'm not sure, but then I'm 'Q' not James Bond

When it's an issue shotgun and you don't have authorization to attach a light/you don't always get the same weapon issued and have time to attach a light?
Because this is phase one of an project. Phase two being embedding a small LCD camera- transmitter so you can see the look on the target's face just prior to impact? [Place on YouTube+????=PROFIT!]

Just to see if it can be done. I do not expect the light to survive, but it would be an interesting idea, nonetheless.

Does that kind of thing go on in the US military as well ?
I was once approached by a member of an elite UK regiment unit to make him a QD attachment for his SA80 to mount a torch. I questioned the need for the QD capability and he responded that he'd get shit from his superiors if he mounted a torch other than in the approved fashion - which, at the time, was duct tape
The project stalled because he got sick of the bullshit and went special forces.

God help you if you shoot someone with a flashlight in the military.
I was thinking of this as more of a fun project/possible home defense.
