GPS for Prospecting, Advice Needed

A friend and I want to check out some gold prospecting
sites here in AZ. He has his membership in the GPAA, I'm
getting mine. I've been to a couple of local meetings in Phoenix
and to one of their outings, up in Dewey. The club has claims
and will furnish maps, however, it would be beneficial to have a
handheld GPS.
Any recommendations?
Does anyone have any experience with the
BLM's Land & Mineral Legacy Rehost 2000 System - LR2000 ?
Thank you!

The last time I used a hand-held GPS it was several generations ago as far as devices and their programs go. Anything I could tell you about GPS devices would be out of date by almost a decade (or so it would seem).

As much as I'd want to help you, you'd be FAR better off using Google/Bing/Yahoo!/Cuil, etc., etc.

Good luck!

David, one of the Garmin Etrex models will do the job. But consider one with a little larger screen. Go find someplace to play with the buttons, Sportsmans Warehouse, Cabela's, Bass Pro and then sit on it and think about it for a bit before forking out the cash.

Come see me at Ben Avery next week and visit.
