need a new cleaning rod , suggestions?

Mine was one of those brass screw together types and I have been meaning to replace it with a better/less likely to damage/cooler one -- but never have.
Now I had an issue with "metal fatigue" at the screw, so now I am on rod short of being able to clean anything with a barrel longer than my Glock.
I don't want to spend a mint, but I would like a one piece rod that will get the job done, will last a good long while and not bugger up my rifling.
Suggestions in the less than $50 range
or
Reasons I need to spend more than that.

I have a couple Dewey rods, they are around thirty bucks apiece. You may want to consider your thread sizes if you have a large assortment of swabs and brushes etc.

Dewey
(funny echo in here)
... of course you will be tied to brushes etc that fit, but Dewey sell good brushes too.
If you're really cheap, go to the hardware store and buy the straightest brass rod you can find that will fit in your bore, plus a threading die to fit the brushes you have. Bend one end at right angles for a handle.

Get the Dewey. I have one of their guides for my bolt guns, and it makes a nice combo.

spent about $75 on a rod, rod guide and some brushes et al. Now I need to clean wedding CRAP out of the workshop so I have room to reload and clean guns.
The wife has been warned that I will PURGE those items with extreme prejudice, so we will see if she gets it under control this weekend.

I will say I had good luck with a Tipton carbon fiber rod; my Dewey was too thick for the smallbore rifles (I bought it for the Garand and the 1903) and I didn't have the cash for a thinner one at the time. It has held up very well and works without issue.

As the bishop said to the actress...
I believe the Dewey .17 rods are a good bet for match-grade .22s with tight barrels.
