At an auction today with Little Sister, bid on a large rifle-scope in a Barski(sic) (made-in-China) box. Handled it (heavy), looked through it (clear and 3X9). Got it for $30.00.
When I got home with it, I noticed some lettering peeping out from under the rear scope ring; moved the ring and found the maker's name and model. Weaver V9W USA. The entire body of the scope is made of blued steel and it has the fine-line reticle cross-hairs and the wide-view eyepiece. I checked some of the on-line gun auctions for example prices; $100-$249.
Now I just need a 1970's-vintage rifle to go under it!

The El Paso Museum of History has most of Weaver's shop in storage. In the old building they had, the shop set up. I'm trying to convince the Museum to put on an exhibit of the Weaver collection. One of the scopes is on display but that's about it. IF it ever happens, I'll post photos for those interested.

Good acting requires an imagination; reality requires a person not getting lost in their imagination.
