The Gun Counter

I am used to working with Aimpoint, but I refuse to pay 500 dollars for a red-dot reflex sight. I see SEVERAL for sale, for 50-100 bucks, and am looking for input on what kinds you guys use. (I value the opinion of the forum a bit higher than that of amazon reviews)

In the last 3-gun match I shot (last Sunday), most of us had an Eotech, but the consensus seemed to be that an Eotech was the best choice for a game reticle, but the battery life of an Aimpoint made it the best for a car/home gun.

A few guys were running ACOGs - IMO, the magnification gets too distracting, and I would rather have a magnifier.

I don't know anyone who's had good luck w. a ChiCom one.

If you need one to play with, and I can find it, I can sell you a Bushnell Holosight quite cheap - I liked the reticle design, but I only ever had them on my 22s. (Might not be a bad shotgun choice, though...

Oy. I like the Trijicons as well so... Meprolight? I think they have an entry version. The trijicon is what makes all the difference.

Not cheap, but I like the Docter red-dot sight. I believe the Burris Fastfire is very similar, and it is easier to get mounts for...

Docters are nice - mounts aren't too bad - JP makes mounts to fit.

I have a Docter as well, my open gun used to be a slide ride.

I don't remember why the lesser C-Mores run, but they are nice on pistols - they eat batteries, but it's a siz used in the military - no idea for what.

What do you plan on doing w the sight? (Why does that question fill me with dread about the response?)

One of my friends has a Leupold Delta sight on his carry gun, which has worked well for him.

I like the tritium/fiber optic sights for hunting, etc - the trijicon accuflex scopes are great, and you can get them set up for an AR w a true 1x... And that's what I think I want on my game gun, instead of getting a magnifier... Maybe

I'm [strike]patiently[/strike] waiting for one to become available to put on my converted Saiga. Lots of good reviews. Mad Ogre has a series of videos about the Lucid.
