Anyone tried this AR-15 gadget?

Got my latest small catalog from Sportsman Guide yesterday. While looking over the cold weather gear, I happened to spot THIS little gem. So, I have to ask if the implications of it are what it seems to me to be.

The ad implies (to me) to allow a simulation of full auto (at the price of accuracy, of course).

Anybody familiar with it?

disclaimer: I'm not interested in buying this as A); it wouldn't fit my AR, and B); I am not interested in going full auto no matter how great a rush it gives. 8-)

Edit: I see below that this was also discussed back in 2008. I must have missed it then.

To me it looks like a kludge that provides a solution to a non-existent problem.

I ought to do a separate post on this, because my comment isn't exactly germane to your topic, but here goes:

Fully automatic fire is, except in very specific instances, sucks in every way. I'm going to write up my own thread. Proceed.
:)

Assault Rifle Parts cannot be shipped to CA
Not that I want this, as I'm a proponent of Colonel Cooper's principle, "may all your enemies be on full-auto", but I also object to Kalifornia's illiberal nanny-state fascist program of citizen control particularly relating to matters relating to self-defense.
