Check it out. The SST emitters can be pretty scary, this one packs an SST-90 in a light small enough to fit in your pocket.

nice ...but...

$149 and I still need to buy the battery AND Charger??? I just can't even justify THINKING about that kind of price. Sucks being poor. :)

Not sure if I'd want to put that in my pocket, but looks great for a back pack or night stand.

What kind of heat do you think it would create if it was accidentally switched on while in your pocket? :o  :o

There are a bunch here for less. $32 for a 900 anyone?

Note, DX (aka "everything cheap and Chinese") is a total crapshoot. I tend to be more risk-averse than some, and so have a much lower tolerance for no-name Chinese crapware. Some of that stuff really is the 'off label' generic equivalent of stuff you see sold under reputable labels for 2-3 times as much, but only some.

That's true but I have had about 80% good luck with them so far. The ceramic knives are very well made and the bee's knees.

So if one of these were to turn on accidently in your pocket or otherwise contacting something inflammable, would it set fire to that something?
I know of someone in HS who torched the inside of his car when a handheld spotlight set fire to his car seat.

I don't have current draw figures for the emitter but what I do know is the estimated runtime, and the capacity (in mAh) and voltage of the battery. Doing a little math, with the light on high the battery will be supplying ~10 watts of power. If it's in your pocket, all of that would be turned into waste heat, heating up your coat lining.
