It would benefit from some concealment. Maybe wood veneer and molding to make it look like a decorative column with plant or clock on top?

I have never understood the idea of a locked container for ready access guns. Biometric (palm reading lock) opening, maybe but the price on the lock alone...

I know some folks that unlock their box/safe when they are in the house and lock it when leaving or have untrained/uncleared company over.

Me, I just have my carry piece on/with me at home and secure it in a lock box when I can't take it where I'm going

That would be me. We have a lot of people in and out of our house. Often large groups (20-30) with rugrats around. I seldom carry at those times.

What would be nice is if somebody made a wall insert designed to look like a painting as a door, so you could put a coupla handguns in it. add a coupla push buttons on the inside bottom edge as a lock system(sorta like those buttons on institutional doors) and you'd have a winner.

I think it might be useful as a the "secure" part inside of some kind of decor element.
