Ran across this via Sipsey St. It looks like an interesting grab-&-go rig. Thoughts?

Yep, I've got one set up. I bought a 5.11 Bail-Out-Bag when I was in Iraq, and used it to hold extra ammo, NVGs, a water bottle, more medical supplies, etc. It's set up here right next to the gun safe with with almost his exact recommendations. Be sure that you get one that can be hooked to your belt if you desire, because once you start to run, it will bounce around.

It's the same concept as a bail out bag, go bag, active shooter bag, etc.

He needs to add a good multi-tool and a cleaning kit to his list of gear. Nothing would ruin your day like finding out you forgot to lube your rifle before you put it away. The multi-tool is useful for just about everything that you might run into, from breaking down an AR with a stuck takedown pin to removing a broken case. And no, there's no bayonet in my active shooter bag, just a Benchmade folder.

That's one advantage of an "old school" fixed stock AR over an M-4gery type; you can carry a cleaning kit with you in the buttstock. My pistol grip has a latched cover and I carry spare parts (firing pin, springs, tucked in with some bore patches) in it.

I'd personally prefer to have something that didn't look so military.

Well that would be a non-permissive or stealth bag then. To fight a war in the street in under a minute... That would do. I have it all attached to my armor, just slip in and fasten and grab the rifle. I am in a fight after all, Armor and rifle with a few items is all I need. Since I am running around with a rifle the importance of "military" looks has flown out the window for me.
