It's kind of like "What's in your pockets?" and there is no shame in that.
Here. Let's all share where we are these days.

Re: EDC i.e. Every Day Carry
The article, and follow-on postings, seems very comprehensive in beginning the process of formulating a philosophy of survival. I need to revisit the website in more depth.
As to what I do now, unfortunately I live in California and work on a military base so I am somewhat limited in what I can carry around with me.
I always have a Swiss Army knife in my pocket and a Bug-Out-Bag (BOB) in my "car." I recently swapped my Jeep Cherokee for a Land Rover so my transportation is a little more road-worthy. My BOB has most of what it would take to survive for a couple days under most circumstances, but no firearms. If I'm not at work and just running around, I slip a Ruger SP101 with a couple speed-loaders in the bag. I don't "wear" a sidearm because California is a minefield of restricted areas and the consequences of being caught in one are too severe.

If time, chance and random process can produce a platypus why not an ammo tree?

This post is a bit old, but other than the phone, now a motorola droid, and the knife, now a kershaw blackout, still accurate.
Had a leatherman I used to carry as well, but the damn clip broke, so I have to replace that.

Small streamlight flashlight. Sharpie Sherpie pen. Super knife. Wallet. Aggie Ring - best bottle opener ever made. Evo, blackberry. Key clip from thebeltman.net. Rohrbaugh, 2 reloads, 329 NG. Sometimes a speedloader for the 329, but as I have more guns in my car, at home, and at the office, I usually figure that I don't need it.
*However, if things are "jumping**" a bit around work, then I'll carry a G31 and a couple reloads in a shoulder holster - if OC'ing around the plant, or the G31 at 4 O'Clock and the 329 and 11 O'Clock.
**Drug drops going on around the plant again, etc.

I expect you to set the next drug dealer you have to shoot at with a short-barreled .44 magnum on fire. Only if you don't will you be allowed to carry a speedloader for itAglifter wrote:Sometimes a speedloader for the 329, but as I have more guns in my car, at home, and at the office, I usually figure that I don't need it.

I don't know about drug dealers, but I think I came close to setting some IDPA targets on fire before.

I just carry a Swiss Army Knife (Executive) and a Space Pen. I feel underdressed.

Re: EDC i.e. Every Day Carry
After reading some of the posts above, I feel like a lightweight!
The van that I share with Little Sister has a bug-out bag and a larger plastic tub with
survival supplies, but the only "weapon" is a Cold-Steel-knock-off Kukri. My pocket knife is
an antique-style folder with a four-and-a-half-inch spearpoint blade. Things have been so
laid back around here that I haven't even considered a firearm in either vehicle.
Might have to think about it.

I was there, everyone doubled up when you started to shoot. You left one if not smoldering, at least covered with so much unburned powder it looked like it was crisped.Aglifter wrote:I don't know about drug dealers, but I think I came close to setting some IDPA targets on fire before.

CByrneIV wrote:Seriously guys, I carry about five pounds of crap on my pockets and belt and I really don't notice; unless I have to sit on the crap for an extended period of time (in which case I distribute it to other pockets, or around me for a while).
that would increase my weight by 3.2%.

At work I have my P3AT in my front pocket and my G-22 in my back pack.
I have a 3.5 inch folder in another pocket, some keys, a small business card holder as my wallet and my blackberry curve.
not at work I have the P3AT in a rear pocket and the G-22 in a Serpa in my hip. the rest is pretty much the same.
I have reloads for both and an additional gun (with reload) in the truck as well as basic bug out materials.
With cash being tight I have not gotten my basic or advanced BOB together. The GF and I are beginning to put a few dollars towards that with some frequency. I want a dependable pocket carry BRIGHT flashlight but the cheap ones are CHEAP and the good ones are SPENDY...
