Paracord and its uses

From what I've seen roaming around the internet, paracord is pretty much the duct tape of string and rope-type objects.

Since I won't be having cable tv much longer due to moving and budget expenses, I figure that the time I spend listening to various sporting events on the radio will give me plenty of time to do other stuff, so I thought about grabbing some decent paracord and putting together a few things: a rifle sling, a rock-throwing sling, zipper pulls, cellphone or water bottle carriers, stuff like that, maybe even keychains with large and heavy fobs at the end so you can easily find them. You know, the usual.

Then I got to thinking: has anyone ever made magazine carriers for 1911 or XD magazines out of paracord? Done right, I think they'd work decently. What other projects have those of you who've made stuff out of paracord found to be worth repeating?

Recently visited the USS North Carolina and found a couple surviving examples of possibly active-service-period marlinspike work (with enough layers of paint that I think it's veteran). Not too common any more. Stormdrane's work makes me envious.
I'm not old--It's too early to be this late.

Good ideas. Any time my camping, survival, SHTF, or other gear comes with cord, I pull it out and put in 550 cord. For example: I just bought a signal mirror and a compass, each with an eyelet for string/cord. I cut off the string they came with, and replaced them with paracord.

In doing so, the original item becomes much strong, and I have an instant source of high-strength string that's 7 times as long as the cord I cut.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

I couldn't keep Rancho Imperfecto in operation without 550 cord. I even use it for boot laces at work (I work in a steel mill, and steel-toe boots with metatarsal guards eat laces like candy. I have a set of 550 bootlaces that have lasted through 5 pairs of boots ) Every jump bag/bailout bag/boogie bag we own has at least 100 feet of 550 in it. It's like re-usable duct tape.

CTD has 300' spools of good American made cord at a decent price (when I bought it); there was a vendor early this year selling 1000' spools for under $40 shipped but I think that was a sale price.

There is a lot of cheap asian knock-off cordage out there so be careful where you buy from.

I've dabbled with some items but Stormdrane's site looks like it will inspire more effort... wow!

With regard to paracord projects, it's Stormdrane's world and we just live in it. :)
