Now if they'd just make a version in 9 or .40 that took BHP mags I'd be interested.
Or Ruger P-Series.

I actually listed that on a "What gun would you want to see made" thread on another forum a while back. I get the feeling we'd have to spring for the mold.

EDIT: And now that I'm thinking about it, would it be worth all that trouble for a rifle in 9mm? Can someone post some ballistics for a 9mm from a 16" barrel vs. handgun? I'm not at all certain it would be worth it.

Chamber it in .45 and get it taking M&P mags, and it would officially become my next purchase. Especially if I could get some of those long sticks like they make for Glocks. Still, I've seen used .40 Glocks all over the used racks for cheap recently. That would probably be the way to go, even though I'm not a huge fan of .40 either.

Use Malibu, then. It's the official fighting rum of the 429th ECS. Okay, it's the official "fill up the empty airplane bottles with Saudi sand, make paracord lanyards around them and use them for impromptu slung-shots when needed" rum of the 429th, but hey... it's Saudi. What else can you do with your time there?

Ron Zacapa 23 year... Its really good stuff - better than their 35 year. (Not really 35 years old, just some of the booze blended into it is - still, impressive, esp. for Rum.)

The Malibu rum thing comes from my first flight into Saudi. The Air Force chartered an airliner to get us from Cannon to Khobar (ostensibly because we didn't need a C-5 for cargo space). As we left NAS Sigonella we were told that there wasn't any alcohol allowed to be on board the plane once we landed in Saudi. For some reason, 90 percent of the alcohol they had was Malibu rum. So in the interests of cultural sensitivity we proceeded to drink every last drop of booze on that plane. As we crossed out of Iraqi or Syrian or whatever airspace we were over in getting from dropping off a deployment's worth of maintainers at Incirlik to Saudi, we showed that all the bottles were empty by flinging them madly at one another throughout the interior of the aircraft. Voluntarily picking up every single last one of those tiny bottles and shoving them in our pockets (our NCOIC was the worst offender of bottle-flingery), we were allowed to exit the aircraft. Then seeing that we had nothing else we could do with them, we filled them with sand and turned them into weights for slung-shots. Thus it became our official fighting rum. It's not great rum, but it's got a story to go with it.

Good story, Soup. I wouldn't drink the stuff, but just try a tablespoon of Malibu drizzled over some ripe sliced fresh pineapple. It's magic.
