Fire Away!
I keep one with my sole folding stock-mounted 870 as an occasional truck gun, mainly because it allows me to put a suitable number of MOLLE shotshell pouches on the outside, each with a full complement of either buckshot, slugs, or birdshot, and then toss the whole thing into the lock box behind the seat without wondering if I've forgotten anything.
I can't see actually wearing it unless I had broken down in a national forest/wilderness with nothing else, and had a healthy hike back to reality, or because the cherry LT back in the drop ship made us give up our firing keys because stray rounds would adversely affect the nuclear power plant.
But then I'd be facing those acid-blooded aliens, so I'd probably be screwed anyways.

I think it only works if you have a chainsaw on your "off" hand.

Let's just hope I never fail badly enough at logistics for that to become necessary.First Shirt wrote: Probably doesn't understand the importance of a Sears & Roebuck catalog, either.

He does that because toilets freeze and burst at -40F. I doubt NPR has piped-in running water in his cabin for the same reason, unless it's during summertime only.308Mike wrote:WHY are you using an OUTHOUSE when parked in the DRIVEWAY (why not just go inside the house)???Netpackrat wrote:A few years back, I had one of them cross the driveway 10-15 yards away while I was outside loading up the Jeep to leave. About the coldest we've been out there for was 15 below, but there's an automated weather station in the area, and I've seen as low as -50F on it at times when I've checked the site during the winter. It's theoretically possible to drill a well and put in a septic out there, but the cost would run to tens of thousands of dollars, and then there is the whole winterizing thing since the cabin is unheated most of the time.Termite wrote:He does that because toilets freeze and burst at -40F. Edit: Eventually we are going to put in a rainwater system for summer use, for washing dishes, bathing, etc., but it hasn't been a real big priority.

I figured that would be your utlility water source during summer. A cistern catching roof rainwater. Drain it and the pipes for the big freeze.Netpackrat wrote: Eventually we are going to put in a rainwater system for summer use, for washing dishes, bathing, etc., but it hasn't been a real big priority.
