[strike]Thanks Rusty for correction...
Nothing in this for me -- passing along what I believe to be a great deal...
$17.99 (plus $5 shipping) = $22.99 for a Samsung BT earpiece and a $20 rebate == $2.99 for what seems a very good BT earpiece.
I thought at first you could actually make money on this but in this case Woot's limiting it to one per account.
Still, you could use multiple e-mail addresses and get 3 per home address...[/strike]Deal's over...

Woot is actually run on Central time. Their warehouse is about 10 minutes from my old apartment near DFW Airport

Never used Woot. Are they any good? What sort of items are the best to buy on it, and which ones should be avoided?

Re: Almost free Samsung BT Headset until midnight mt time!
Never had a bad deal on Woot. I've bought some junk, but... It was what it was, I still chose to buy it, and it was still a deal!
Still kicking myself for not grabbing the Acer NB I posted about a while back - refurb but came with car adapter and DVD-RW drive, major steal... I passed it up for a Lenovo but they sold out before I pulled the trigger...
Their customer service is impeccable. I had one item - some sort of screwdriver set IIRC - that USPS couldn't seem to deliver. Online tracking showed it arriving at my local PO then heading back to TX for some reason - where it disappeared. I sent an e-mail and had a refund in my PP account the next day.
This current item has apparently been on a couple of times before - at higher prices. Lots of folks complaining about not getting their rebates, but (1) that's Samsung's vendor (not woot) (2) they say 8-12 weeks (typical) and (3) it has only been ~8-9 since the first time it ran so we're just now at the minimum... I wrote a post explaining rebates -- see page 7 of the "discussion" -- that will be ignored... Woot's forum's full of the usual 'net mix of jerks and decent folk, guess which bunch is doing all the complaining?!
I've bought a bunch of "refurb" stuff from woot over the years, always been great. In fact, the 3 refurb Zunes I bought 2 (3?) Christmases ago are still in use today, right now, as I type in fact.
That reminds me -- I did have another problem... One of the 3 Zunes came in an open box with the earbuds and something(s) else missing. Again, an e-mail was responded to the next morning asking what I wanted them to do. I asked them to send me the missing items, they sent me a complete unit via overnight express. They didn't even ask for the old one back, but I was being paranoid and pushed them, when they didn't respond within a couple of days I finally just sent it in. I've since found out I could have kept it without complaint - I probably screwed up their "system" by sending it, seems they'd rather write it off - but when I e-mailed my receipt (just to prove I sent it since I had no RMA - like I said, I was being paranoid) they credited me the shipping to boot.
Like I said -- service is impeccable.
Back on the rebate thing, a couple are complaining they contacted Woot about the rebate and were referred to Samsung -- this is proper since it's a Samsung rebate, not to mention the thing's not even overdue... Some people can't be pleased.
Lastly, occasionally they have a succession of sales called a "woot-off" where they unload all the leftovers at GREATLY reduced prices. How many they offer and how long it lasts all depends on how much crap they have to unload, but it's the best deals going on all of it. There's an app that you can use so you don't have to keep refreshing the page... Woot-off may last hours, some have gone on for days. They're never announced, which makes you want to check the page every morning... I usually check it last thing before bed at 1AM... The last item in a woot-off is always "bag of crap" -- a grab-bag of whatever they toss in the box. People ha ve gotten high-$ items, others get junk -- all get more than they paid for... Google -- woot "bag of crap" -- there are lists and YT vids and whatever showing what I mean. The BoC ALWAYS crashes their servers though, I've never managed to get one...
Anyhow, Bottom line: Woot rocks. I check them every day, and have done most of my gift-shopping there. There's also "sellout.woot.com" which redirects to Yahoo for the last couple of years... It's a similar site that often catches the remainders of woot stuff that didn't sell out. They also have "shirt.woot", "Wine.woot" and recently added "kids.woot" -- all have a daily deal of some sort.
Another good site is "dealsucker.com" -- they track all the "deal-a-day" sites and put them all in one place.

Re: $2.99 Samsung BT Headset until 12AM CT time!
I bought three of the flashlights that were posted here earlier. I have one sitting by my phone. I'm not sure what I did with the other two. For ten bucks they weren't beatable.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

I was the one who recommended them. For $10, they are a steal. I don't think they are the 120 lumens as advertised (I know lumens is a subjective thing when it comes to the way companies measure output). Again, for $10.... a steal. I bought 3 and gave two to the GF.I bought three of the flashlights that were posted here earlier. I have one sitting by my phone. I'm not sure what I did with the other two.
