Would any of you have recommendations for an IWB to carry a Colt New Agent? Perhaps?

Crossbreed holsters work well for some of us -- esp. now that they have metal clips.

I've been happy w. some stuff from Lil Bear.

That's what I use for a full-size 1911. Damn fine stuff.

So, I assume I shouldn't blanch at spending lots for the holster, since I spent lots for the weapon? What about those 'slide' holster you see around? Any good?

A good holster (and belt, or harness with a shoulder holster) is an essential part of your overall weapons system.

Your system (weapon, reloads, holster, belt, ammo carriers) is a life support system. Skimping on any of them is like buying a top of the line parachute and getting the cheapest buckles you can find to attach the harness.

Example, I hated shoulder holsters until I tried a Miami Classic, almost $200. Another universe than the cheap nylon generic ones you find at gun shows.

Buy one quality or several cheap (cost and construction) and then the quality.

Oh, and everyone seems to have a box of holsters that didn't quite work for them.

The Miami Classic fits me about as well as socks fit a rooster, at least for a full-size 1911. I do like the Bianchi X-15, but you have to make sure the holster is the right size. (I now have one that will fit a Ruger Vaquero with a 5.5 inch barrel, as well as one that will fit my Kimber Custom. Don't ask me how that came about.)
Which serves to illustrate the point that what works for one may not work for another.

speaking of 5.5" Vaqueros, I think I'm going to go ahead and get a Chesty Puller chest rig from Simply Rugged to go with the pancake holster I got for my old model VQ 45 from them last year.

Looks like it can be configured as a chest rig or as a vertical underarm shoulder rig.

I counted the holsters in my box that never get used. $1200 at least. Ouch.

There are a nubmer of good options, I don't think Clip Draw makes a Colt model, that's what I carry my .357's with. When I used to carry an Agent though it was in a leather holster with cardboard and tape on the outside folded around it, in my hip pocket. There is the DeSantis Nemesis which I use now when I am dressed up.

Clipdraw does make a model for the defender -- I'm fond of mine, even if it is a "universal" model for my 329.
