I spend enough time lurking, so I thought I should contribute something. I can't take all the credit for recommending these binoculars. Someone on that other forum mentioned them and got me to notice them. At 6x, they go under a lot of peoples radar. But at 6x, they have a great field of view. And the best part is they are so easy to steady. While I am hunting, I could be breathing hard from climbing, holding a rifle in one hand, and I can still use these binos while standing. Try that with a 10x wonder glass. And these are bright. They may be just 6x30, but I think they are more factors that effect brightness other than that simple division (6/30=5 as an indicator of brightness.). Also, at only 17 ounces, they are as light at mini binoculars, but handle almost like full size ones, which are easier to steady. And lastly, they are Leupolds, and come with a great warranty.
When you have great binos, you tend to carry and use them more, and then you see a lot more game. Man, do I chastise my friends for leaving their binos in the car, or carrying them around all day and hardly using them.
Yosemite 6x30 binoculars are my every day carry in the field.

Re: Binocular Review
I use Zeiss 8x30. I've been very happy with them. Zeiss doesn't make them anymore, but now have the "Victory" line, which are lighter. I assume the glass is the same quality or better.

Re: Binocular Review
A sister wants some birdwatching binos for Xmas. I looked at a bunch and settled on the Nikon Monarch 8x42 ATBs, great balance of performance and price.

Re: Binocular Review
I'm not a binocular connoisseur or anything, but I've got a set of Bushnell 10x42s that work well for me. I originally bought them about 15 years ago, and a screw recently broke. I shipped them to back to Bushnell (with, I think $10, for shipping), and they sent me back a new pair.
I don't know how the optics really stack up to others, but I'm pretty happy with their customer service.
