Gas cans - Done for now

The place for general talk about gun, shooting, loading, camping, survival, and preparedness related tools and gear, as well as gear technology discussion, gear reviews, and gear specific "range reports" (all other types of gear should be on the back porch).

Hmm, PA has a title fee of $22.50, and annual registration fee, ranging from $6 to $27(over 10k lbs). They can be particularly irritating where homebuilt/assembled traillers are concerned.

NY is a whole other nightmare - they require annual inspections on trailers for one thing.

Uhhh.... that would be about 4000lbs of tank and fuel. You'd be better off trailer mounting it.

Funny enough, I plan on doing exactly that, plus the biodiesel.

I actually want a 300gallon "dirty" tank, for waste oil to be converted; and a 300 gallon "clean" tank, for processed fuel and for picking up diesel, both trailer mounted; plus two 550 gallon stationary tanks (and associated transfer pumps etc...).

Of course I also want to put a 54 gallon tank in my truck (I wish a bigger one fit, but that's the biggest you can get between the frame rails); and get a slide in front of bed 80 or gallon transfer/aux tank with some hold downs and QD fittings (so I can run a switchover diesel/biodiesl/veg-oil system).
You kill me! Go big or go home, right?
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Eh, a 550 gallon tank is 1100 from Northern Tool.

A dispenser pump will run you under 200 for a hand crank. AC pumps start at 300, and DC pumps can be had for 200 bucks.

a 100 gallon painted steel tank is 270 bucks.

Considering the price of gas has dropped better than 30 cents(at 550 gallons, that $280 bucks) since the high of the summer...

It will pay for itself the first, possibly the second time you do a complete fillup.

Random question, but how big a tank of fuel can you haul around without needing a Hazmat endorsement on your license?

It probably depends on whether it's diesel or gas, considering diesel is generally considered nonflammable/nonhazardous.
