So yea. Anyway you can read the whole thread here.Dear Zombie Hunters:
Let's not be too hasty in dismissing a potentially valuable weapon accessory...
I am one of the inventors of RIPR, and it is an actual "SWAP-C" military program. It decreases the overall weight of the weapon and batteries to power your weapon accessories, makes smaller accessories (80% smaller/200% more powerful lights as an example) we offer possible, makes sure you carry only one type of refill cells and enables you to take any AA battery and get back in the fight. Rangers and SOCOM have already added their input...now we have heard from the Fighters of the Undead!
Battery pack weight is negligible since they are Lithium L-91, with the most powerful you can buy as a civilian being "8x Ultra Energizer"...they work longer than CR-123s and operate to -20C. You can buy a civilian version of RIPR starting November 1st with a blindingly powerful light, a green laser, integral front sight and two packs for your AR-15 or other tactical rail equipped weapon. You can't feel the RIPR in a pinch, but it's there...and during the day you can keep an extra 30 rounder up the spout since the sights have backup cells, but the reverse won't work for safety.
If there is demand, I will design you a Zombie specific weapon attachment for their peculiar vulnerabilities. Perhaps someone could enlighten us as to what exactly those are?

Re: RIPR (Rifle Integrated Power Rail)
I can see it if there are proprietary battle proven gear, but just barely. Obviously there has to be something else this powers, probably NVG from another maker that was made for a beta test, otherwise nobody would be interested. I mean, I like doo dads and try just about all of them (although I have been less than stellar as of late reviewing them) but on my weapons I really have only one thing that uses a battery and it is a light (if there is something there at all), and two CR123a batteries put out 900 lumens. I use Trijicon powered red dots so no love there. I hope that guy comes back and gives some real info. Or Kommander, PM him and invite him over here as well to chat.

These guys make it...
I see lots of talk about developing something to run on it from some of the linked sites on the main page but so far nothing does AFAIK. On one illustration I see a light and a holosight. That is not enough to use that much power.
It might just be a case of a startup idea that developed in a vacuum. Some guy thought of it and sold his bosses who are not weapon oriented and they thought it would sell. Or something.

I am in the process of verifying the authenticity of the post. If/when I do I'll go from there.
EDIT: Looks like Mr. Howard is the real deal. Fascinating.
