Re: Rumpshot's AR Build
So you're gonna' get it finished just in time for the Revenge?

POLITICIANS & DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON
A person properly schooled in right and wrong is safe with any weapon. A person with no idea of good and evil is unsafe with a knitting needle, or the cap from a ballpoint pen.
I remain pessimistic given the way BATF and the anti gun crowd have become tape worms in the guts of the Republic. - toad

With a bit of luck I will have it finished in time to try out at the Payson Appleseed Sept 20-21. That would be a great test of the whole thing and should help get it sighted in.

Re: Rumpshot's AR Build
This page was very helpful when I built my lowers. Also, might I suggest this and this for comfort during shooting.

rumpshot, if you are going to use a standard pistol grip, get a "gapper" will be much happier.
If you are unwilling to give another man freedom in his life, do not expect to have it in your own.

Also, should you need some kind of modern-looking firearm that shares powder with your cannon, there's a muzzleloader upper for ARs now, too.
Remember, folks, you can't spell "douche" without "Che."

I think TangoDown's Battle Grip and Magpul's MIAD are excellent grip upgrades which will also fill the gap. I can't stand the A2. Love the TD.
FWIW Grant at G&R now sells LPKs equal in quality to LMT or Colt for a lot less moolah. You could keep yours in the box for spare
Rumpshot, I can't say enough about P-Mags. No reason for any others. Good luck on the build; hope to shoot with you before too long.

Re: Rumpshot's AR Build
Modular design is part of the reason for having/building an AR right?
I have plenty of front stuffers and the capability to rebuild "suppository" loads, so I have fodder for both. I do need to fetch some more bullets and primers for .223. And get busy and start the reloading process for same. Lots of brass on hand.
With a little (lot???) of luck, the parts will arrive sometime next week and the assembly process begins. After assembly, break-in, torture testing (not sure if me or the gun), I will start looking towards assesories and tweaks.
Expected torture testing to include: Payson Appleseed 20-21 Sept and Rumpshot's Revenge III 8-9 Nov. Also any other opportunity that might arise.

I didn't look, so you may already have done it: could you post a report on the appleseed shoot this past week-end?
Thanks.
Thanks.
