Savage Striker, Etc.

Post by Darrell »

When I was reading around on the web about the .22 WMRs I was considering, and the Ruger Charger, I ran across some info on the Savage Striker pistol, particularly the .22 WMR version. I'd never heard of the gun before, it looks interesting. I gather they're out of production? I've seen other such guns before, such as the Remington XP-100. I suppose the standard in such guns would be the Thompson Contender. What's the skinny on such pistol type guns? I rather suspect something like a Contender is for handloading afficianados.

You can build centerfire knockoffs of the XP-100, a number of company make actions that will fit XP stocks(Unfortunately, all of them are single shot actions! :| ), Stiller is probably the first one that springs to mind.
