A friend, and gunsmith, has become very cautious with guns.

Admittedly, he’s usually dealing with repairs, but I’ve had custom built guns which were meticulous - SVI and triangle shooting sports and Randy Lee, and a now retired fellow in Austin - and others come back as crap.

He's requested the receipt to repair the window. In the words of Rodney Dangerfield, the Floor Lamp don't get no respect.
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
