DIY ARF Lower

Post by D5CAV »

Very cool!

$600 for 15 ARF lowers comes out to $30 each (assuming no goofs).

I have concerns about longevity of plastic vs. heat-treated aluminum, but at that price, who cares? Just throw away the old one, put the lower parts in the new one. The lower parts kit costs twice as much as the lower.

Alexander Arms lowers have been on sale again recently, $39 IIRC. I don't remember where I saw them, though.

HTRN or someone speculated recently (might have been in my budget AR thread) about the possibility of putting together a $400 AR. Seeing recent sale emails from PSA, going with blem lowers and uppers, I think the chance is there. Might not include sights, though.

Cheapest I find is $45 for Anderson Arms

Which is still a good price, however, add on $20 to $40 for an FFL to help you fill out that 4473 with a black ballpoint pen.
