Range Trip Roundup

Post by Weetabix »

Post about your range trips where you take others to shoot - spread the shooty joy!

I took two of my daughters, my son, and his girlfriend to the range on Saturday. The girlfriend had only been shooting twice before.

Having that many there, I didn't get much shooting done, but it was still fun. We took a pile of .22 rifles, a Mark II, a Makarov that my daughter loves, and a Mosin 91/59 that I'd never shot before (fireballs are fun). No one wanted to shoot the 91/59 but my son and I.

We were on a shared outdoor lane, so we were kind of stuck with the distances the other groups wanted to shoot - mostly 7 - 10 yards. The two Henry .22's got the most action, though everything got fired a bit. I forgot the magazine for my grandpa's old .22, so we were feeding single rounds on that one.

We put some eggs on the berm for fun. Quite amusing if you hit them dead center.

I have a 10/22 with Tech Sights and a USGI sling on it. I shot 2 magazines at 25 yards from prone after everyone else was done shooting. I had about a 2" group, so not bad, but needs some work.

Now, share your stories.
Note to self: start reading sig lines. They're actually quite amusing. :D

Good show Weet. My range trips have been limited recently. Will be out next Sunday with the monthly club BP match. Probably won't shoot, but may have some GoPro footage.
