It's lovely. Haven't tried any 327s, yet, but with 32 H&R Hydro-shocks, recoil was minimal, and the accuracy was excellent.

Mentally, I belong in the late 19th century/early 20th or so, and I found my "Old Friend" in a Ruger Single-Seven, and "Buckaroo", is an enjoyable, more lithe, companion.

It's light, with all the refinement that one would expect from a 'smith with a ~2 year backlog.

So, I shot it today with some 327 Ammo.

Snippy little beast. It's rather lovely with a 32 H&R Magnum load, but the 327s are a bit much out of a bearcat.

I tried to shoot it w. My left hand, at first, and it promptly lept up and bit me.

If I bore down hard enough w. The right, I could managed to hit the plates, but it's almost impossible to use the weak hand to aide in shooting.

With that said, it's ballistic all more than a 9MM, coming out of a 21oz gun, so it shouldn't be too much of a suprise, but my Single-seven is quite pleasant to shoot, so I was a little surprised.

The 85gr soft points at pretty mild. The 100 grain ones are a little stouter, but not bad. The 115 grain Gold Dots are for nutty, crazy people.

sounds like it would be great for most of us here then.

Oh I might like them in a gun with a full size grip, but not the birds head grip on a bear cat

The Federal 100-gr in a Taurus 327 snubnose was the only gun that I own that people just put down after emptying the cylinder and NOT want to pick up again.

I spoke with Lipsey's about the Single Seven, I've been lusting after one but had no money. Now I'm proud owner of a Single-Seven Acquisition Fund but they are not to be found. Lipsey's says they have more on order from Ruger and they will be available again around summer this year.

My single-seven is my "Old Friend". I am inordinately fond of it. Once I get it dolled up a bit, I'll probably carry it a fair bit.

I always carry my Bearcat, now.
