So, my buddy bought a glock 19 a couple of weeks ago, based partly on my recommendation (mostly online research but I've also shot a handful of rounds through a 19 and a 17). We went to the range this past weekend and I shot it, and got one ragged hole after not shooting a pistol in an obscene amount of time.
I've decided that I need one. I've wanted one for a long time, and I'm going to do it as soon as payday happens. So for those of you who own one....what are your thoughts on holsters/magazines, and so forth? Looking for a concealment rig at the very least (and I have trouble concealing a J frame, 6'2 and 165).
NPR, I looked at a G29 as well....I think for where I'm at, it's too thick- I probably wouldn't carry one. Maybe 10mm is also in my future. I worry more about people than wildlife around here anyhow.

Re: Glock 19
I really like my G-Code INCOG hoslter for my Glock 19. I use it to carry strong side, about 4-4:30. No appendix carry for me, I like my wedding tackle too much for that.
As for mags, I have a G19 one in the gun and a G17 in my pocket. OEM mags, only, though I think that Magpul has fixed their glitch, and they work fine. But the OEM mags are almost as cheap, so...why?
Change the sights to TruGlo TFOs or similar, add a lightened trigger bar/whatever/springs, etc if you feel the need, and you've got a really nice pistol.

I can't help with carry gear, but I note that the gun club bought a slightly-used G19 last year as a range loaner piece, and it has worked flawlessly, despite many different shooters, mixed ammunition, and strictly no cleaning.

Well, I can wear heavier clothes most of the year, and AK is an open carry state anyway, so if it prints, fuck em. If large animals weren't in the mix, I'd probably have stuck with .40 for my Glocks.JKosprey wrote:NPR, I looked at a G29 as well....I think for where I'm at, it's too thick- I probably wouldn't carry one. I have a nice OWB one from On your 6 holsters in SA. I have TFO Tru Glos on it, and a Crimson trace laser guard.
I suggest the green rear laser, now that they have one.
I'm a big fan of lasers on carry guns, if you need glasses to see the sights

When I carry my Glock 23 concealed, I use a Galco KingTuk holster. It's pretty comfortable, although I do wear an undershirt between my body and the holster, with a collared button up shirt untucked overtop.
