Like I mentioned in my revolver and primer thread.
For me, it was my S&W 325. Light strikes all over the place. For a ~$1K "Performance Center" revolver. I wanted one in the worse way for a hiking sidearm, and spent part of my last USMC paycheck to get one.
Honorable mention goes to the Bushmaster ACR that I never bought. I was looking forward to dumping a bunch of TAD money onto it's $1,600 estimated price tag. When it hit the market at twice that, with no support, I used the funds to build a FAL.
So what were you patiently awaiting that just fell flat?

A Colt Gold Cup, series 70. What a piece of [expletive deleted]!!! Three trips back to the factory, 11 different magazines, from 4 different vendors, and it still wouldn't reliably feed 230 gr. FMJs.
Sold it and used the money to buy two Springfield 1911 kits, with some change left over.
Last I heard, the new owner had had it for two years, and still couldn't get it to run. He wound up sending it to Cylinder & Slide, and finally got it to run. After spending about what he'd paid for it originally.

Then there was The Boss's excursions into 9mm. Not sure if it was the gun, or the shooter, but when she found out that her Colt Trooper Mk III (with 6-inch bbl) wouldn't fit into the glove box of her car, she insisted that I sell it, and get her something smaller.
Went through at least 6 different 9mm autos, and she couldn't hit the ground with any of them unless she dropped them, and some she'd have to drop at least twice.
Got her back into .357 wheelguns, and she's been happy ever since. Relatively speaking. She is married to me, after all.

Sig Mosquito. I really like Sigs. I heard bad things on the interwebs about Mosquitos. I figured I was smarter than the average bear. I was not.
Fail to feed. Fail to return to battery. Fail to eject. And, a springy flexy trigger that felt like a squirt gun. I tried both recoil springs. I tried different ammo. I tried fluffing and buffing. Nothing worked. Could not get more than three shots in a row without some sort of malfunction. Sold it to someone, got what I paid luckily.

Browning A bolt hunter in 308, 16" pattern at 25 yards with factory loaded Sierra Game kings.
Hard to sight that in, went through two scopes and two sets of rings, they werent the problem. Started to wonder if it wasnt stabilizing, but it would leave a round hole. Never could figure it out and didnt want to bother sending it back so traded it.

HK USP .45. I was a newb to the gun world and I was looking to buy the ubiquitously awesome Glock in the most awesome American caliber of .45. Local gun store didn't have one, so the intrepid salesman talked me into spending more $$ on the USP.
I've had it for over 15 years now. At first, I thought there was no way I could ever shoot a full sized DA pistol accurately. After shooting other guns, I realized the HK trigger was an utter abomination for an $800 gun (or a $300 gun for that matter) I still hate the trigger. But there is the option of having a "tactical trigger" installed. Or I could take it to the job site and bang in 10d nails consistently. It is built like a tank and has never had any problems feeding and shooting any ammo. But the fucking trigger....

Siaga 12 gauge, just don't like it, paid too much for it and it's a pos.

My Jericho (IWI Baby Eagle) .45 pistol. At first, it worked fine. Then, I started having feeding issues and bolt over base malfunctions. I tried different magazines, then tried polishing the breach face, feed ramp, and slightly changing the radius and polishing of the extractor as suggested by a CZ specialist gunsmith. I finally had Kahr (new importers) send me new recoil springs. The gun works fine now with the original barrel. But with the extended barrel I had threaded and my .45 Osprey hanging off the end, it jams like crazy again. It's now been relegated to glove box duty. Huge disappointment.
At least my Glock 23 with the Storm Lake barrel makes an excellent suppressor host.

Have you thought about selling it to one of the companies that customize them for 3 gun folks?arctictom wrote:Siaga 12 gauge, just don't like it, paid too much for it and it's a pos.

My first handgun, a first-gen Taurus 24/7 in .40. Possibly the first one in the state of Idaho. It was beyond "meh," and I'd bought all the hype on .40 being the new wondergun. Finally got rid of it as part of a trade for my S&W 19, which is probably the best purpose it served.
