Start 'em early, teach 'em right!

Post by First Shirt »

Back in May, I took this junior minion shooting for the first time, and he had a blast. I'd planned on giving him a minion-sized 10/22 for his 10th birthday, but since the family will be back in Hawaii when that rolls around, I picked up a pawn-shop 10/22, and ordered some "upgrade" parts. Took it up there last week, and when I told him what I had, and that I had some improved parts to put in it, he asked if he could help. So, with Papa looking on, and helping where necessary, we replaced the hammer, firing pin, extractor and magazine release, and mounted a mid-range 3-9x32 scope. I wouldn't say he was excited, but I don't think his feet touched the floor all day!

And I think he's got the exploded diagram for the receiver memorized!
