Large-Caliber Rifle for BAG Day
I've never seen a rifled 12-gauge before, but there it was at the local pawn&gun. It's a New England Firearms 12-gauge Topper-style action with rifle sights and a Schnabel fore-arm. Cylinder-bore of course, so I can shoot anything that will fit in the chamber. My ammo-stash includes forty rounds of Aguila 12-gauge mini-shells loaded with solid slugs; time to try it out!

Wear well. Still got my H&R 12ga Topper, first gun I bought, first paper route savings, first deer I took. Simple, strong, and will teach your shoulder a thing or two.
If it's rifled it's pretty much just a slug gun. It'll shoot donut patterns with buck or bird shot.

Nice score!
My BAG day purchase was a P-35 made by FN.
It has a "high capacity" magazine. Do I get bonus points because it was used by the Jews, hopefully to oppress the Pore'n'Starvin' Palestinians?

Yeah, I still have my first one bought in Oxnard back when K-Mart still had a gun-counter.blackeagle603 wrote:Wear well. Still got my H&R 12ga Topper, first gun I bought, first paper route savings, first deer I took. Simple, strong, and will teach your shoulder a thing or two.
Then that is how it shall be!If it's rifled it's pretty much just a slug gun. It'll shoot donut patterns with buck or bird shot.

Bag limit: one dozen.

If time, chance and random process can produce a platypus why not an ammo tree?

...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

At across the room ranges would rifling make much difference in bird shot pattern?
